On July 5, 2016, Valery G. Korzun, pilot-cosmonaut, deputy Head of Yu. A. Gagarin research and test cosmonaut training center, Hero of the Russian Federation visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).
In the course of the visit he viewed scientific-research and manufacturing complexes, laboratories as well as high-technological low-tonnage manufactures, producing 234 different product names.
Specialists of VIAM told Valery Korzun about the history of the institute, materials for aerospace engineering and advanced developments in this field.
Valery Korzun pointed out, that “our country couldn`t take a leading position in space exploration without VIAM, the major materials science center. Materials and technologies, developed by the scientists of the institute, play the key role in implementation of domestic space programs”.
According to him, a system of personnel training and transfer of experience to young specialists is one of the main factors of successful activities of the institute.
It should be noted, that Valery Korzun became the guest of a project “Synkletos at VIAM” within the framework of the visit.
