The All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in the 17th International specialized exhibition titled “Equipment, devices and tools for metalworking industry” – “Metal working – 2016”, which was held at Central Exhibition Complex “Expocenter” on May 23-27, 2016.
At the opening ceremony Denis V. Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation delivered a welcoming address to participants.
“The exhibition “Metal working” is a real evidence of dynamic development of domestic industry. It is shown by steady increase of a number of Russian participants and that fact confirms the correctness and efficiency of support measurements for our enterprises, implementation results of State programs of industry development”, - Head of department said. According to him, the broad participation of foreign colleagues in the exhibition in spite of complex economic situation and external circumstances is a proof of keen interest of our partners to strength cooperation.
Interesting developments of the institute were presented at VIAM`s stand (pavilion №7, hall №3, stand A15). In particular, model compositions of new generation to produce cast models of gas turbine engine components (GTE) and forming of turbine disc from heat-resistant alloy EP742-ID, used in engines for light multipurpose plains and unmanned aircraft were also presented. Components for GTE, produced by selective laser melting took the special place in the exposition.
The representatives of VIAM held consultations on materials and technologies, developed at the institute as well as told the visitors about VIAM`s achievements in this field.
It should be added, that Pavel Mazalov, employee of VIAM made a report at a conference, which was held within the framework of the exhibition on the 25th of May.
It should be noted, that the exhibition “Metal working” is annually held at the Expocenter Krasnay Presnya in Moscow at the end of May. It is the largest exhibition and the main event in the field of machine tool building. The unique exposition with the area of 38 500 square meters provided specialists and entrepreneurs the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest developments, technologies, modern equipment and innovative systems in the field of metal working and to view technical peculiarities and advantages of modern machines. 900 companies and enterprises from 32 countries all over the world took part in the exhibition in 2016. CJSC “Expocenter” and Russian Manufacturers` Association of machine-tool products “Stankoinstrument” acted as organizers of the meeting.
