Scientific school of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials directed by Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM, won the contest for the right to get grants of the President of Russia for state support of leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation in 2016.

A scientific research theme of VIAM`s specialists is “Development of principles of heat-resistant materials by using the method of selective laser melting as exemplified by intermetallic alloys with carbide hardening system Ni-Al-Ta-C». The work in the area will be carried out in 2016-2017.

It should be noted, that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is the organizer of the contest. Grant is given in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 260 of 27 April 2005 “On measures aimed at state support of young Russian scientists – Candidates of Sciences and Doctors of Sciences and leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation”.

Leading scientific school is an established team of researchers of different age groups and scientific qualifications, who are involved in common scientific researches and perform joint scientific activities. This team should provide scientific personnel training, be composed of leader as well as young specialists (up to the age of 35).
