On April 20, 2016 Valery Fadeev, Editor in chief of the magazine “Expert”, Director General of CJSC “Media holding “Expert” visited  the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about a history of the institute and the main directions of its activity, prospects for further development of VIAM as well as carried out work on import substitution of foreign materials for domestic analogues.  

The Head of VIAM informed about package of works on preservation and development of competence of the Russian Federation in the field of development of materials and technologies of new generation for aviation industry. According to him, the institute has modern low-tonnage manufactures, which allow supplying different materials for successful implementation of the most important state programs.

In the course of the visit, Valery Fadeev got acquainted with experimental research and production base of VIAM, and also spoke with employees of the institute. In particular, he viewed research and manufacturing complexes such as: heat treatment, polymer composite materials, ion-plasma coatings, isothermal forging of heat resistant alloys, single-crystal casting of blades of gas turbine engines. Besides, he became acquainted with research and development complexes of chemical rapid analysis of heat resistant alloys and additive manufacture.

The guest expressed particular interest in equipment for production of complex parts using additive technologies. Valery Fadeev highly appreciated scientific achievements of VIAM, modern equipment and strong workforce capacity of the institute.

It is remarkably, that Valery Fadeev became the guest of a creative project “Synkletos at VIAM”.
