On March, 3, 2016 Yaroslav I. Kuzminov, a famous Russian economist, public figure, founder and rector of National Research University “Higher School of Economics” visited the All-Russian Scientific Research of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

In the course of the visit, Yaroslav Kuzminov got acquainted with experimental research and production base of VIAM, and also spoke with employees of the institute. In particular, he viewed research and manufacturing complexes such as: heat treatment, polymer composite materials, ion-plasma coatings, isothermal forging of heat resistant alloys, single-crystal casting of blades of gas turbine engines. Besides, Rector became acquainted with research and development complexes of chemical rapid analysis of heat resistant alloys and additive manufacture.

Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about development and promising directions of the activity of VIAM including development of materials and technologies of new generation. “More than 80% of innovations in main branches are based on the use of the newest materials and developments of their manufacturing technologies, - Evgeny Kablov pointed out. “The key projects here are development and widespread application of created on the basis of digital technologies of materials of new generation, additive technologies, robotics of different purpose”.

Yaroslav Kuzminov expressed particular interest in equipment for production of complex parts using additive technologies as well as complex of laser hybrid welding. “The utilization rate of additive technologies in production of materials is the right indicator of innovative development of the state. The widespread introduction of additive processes will give imputes to new researches in different sectors of economics”, - Evgeny Kablov told the guest.

In turn, Rector of National Research University “Higher School of Economics” highly appreciated scientific achievements of VIAM, modern equipment and strong workforce capacity of the institute.

 It is remarkably, that Yaroslav Kuzminov became the guest of a creative project “Synkletos at VIAM”.
