On January, 28-29, 2016 a delegation of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials led by Denis V. Graschenkov, Head of SRB of VIAM and Academician of RAS Vyacheslav M. Buznik, Head of laboratory “Materials for Arctic” visited Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n. a. R. E. Alekseev.

In the course of the visit, the representatives of VIAM and NNSTU discussed research plans on the project of Russian Science Foundation for the year 2016. The guests got acquainted with organization of production of Arctic transport units and nodes for them.

It should be noted, that within the framework of the project of RSF, a joint laboratory for development of engineering and functional materials for complex technical systems, operating in extreme conditions of Arctic and subarctic climate, was established.  In future, developed materials will be used to create new life-saving appliance, designed to carry out works on evacuation of people from emergency facility in case of manmade and natural disasters in offshore areas of the northern seas.
