On January, 12, 2016 Sergey V. Yemelyanov, Director of Department for aviation industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

In particular, he viewed scientific-research, experimental and test facilities, high-technology low-tonnage manufactures. Head of department also communicated with employees of the institute, who showed him the work of unique equipment.

Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about the latest achievements of the institute in the field of materials science, work on import substitution of foreign materials for domestic analogues, as well as development of materials of new generation for aerospace industry. He also reminded that the institute developed and supplied materials for different fields of Russian industry due to high-technology low-tonnage manufactures and highly qualified specialists.

Sergey Yemelyanov was very interested in developments of VIAM in the field of composite materials, additive technologies, as well as research and manufacturing complexes of raw material processing and laser hybrid welding.
 

Director of Department for aviation industry highly appreciated scientific achievements of VIAM and noted that the institute was well equipped with modern equipment.
