On November 9, 2015 during the working visit to Kazan the General Director of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM), Academician Evgeny Kablov has visited the Engineering Lyceum for talented children and engineering centers of Kazan National

Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev (KNRTU-KAI).

During his visit to the Engineering Lyceum, which was created by KNRTU-KAI, Evgeny Kablov has praised the initiative of the administration of the University to educate the younger generation and to develop the young people's interest in engineering sciences.

The General Director has also visited the engineering centers of KNRTU-KAI. In particular, the engineering center for composite structures created in collaboration with JSC NPO M.P. Simonov Design Bureau and the Center for Materials Testing and aircraft structures at the Institute of Aeronautical engineering and technology of KNRTU-KAI. In addition, he got acquainted with the research laboratory of polymer composites and preforms for them which is established on the basis of the University department "Manufacture of aircraft".

Evgeny Kablov has acknowledged the high professional level of the University specialists and importance of the main directions of its development. During dialogue with leading scientists of KNRTU-KAI the most pressing issues facing the aviation industry were discussed where the experts of the University could deliver in solution. Also the implementing of the joint projects of VIAM and KNRTU-KAI was considered.

The General Director of VIAM was accompanied by the rector of the University Albert H.Gilmutdinov, President of KNRTU-KAI Yuri F. Gortyshov, vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat L. Abdullin, vice-rector of KNRTU-KAI for development Victor M. Gureev and vice rector of KNRTU-KAI for research and innovation Sergey A. Mikhailov, head of scientific research bureau of VIAM "Nonmetallic materials, metallic composite materials” Denis V. Grashchenkov.
The General Director of VIAM and rector of KNRTU-KAI also laid flowers at the monument to outstanding aircraft designer, academician of the USSR Academy of Science, colonel-general Andrey N. Tupolev who turns 127 years since the birth on November 10th.

It is noteworthy that on the same day in the capital of Tatarstan VIAM representatives have participated in negotiations with the management of JSC Kazan Motor-Building Production Association (KMPO) and specialists of the company on the prospects of development in the field of metallurgical technologies of the new generation (including additive technology) and visited the building of KMPO where it is supposed to open a VIAM branch in the Republic of Tatarstan.
