GUESTS FROM THE KRYLOVSKY CENTER

On November the 2nd, 2015 the Krylovsky State Research Center delegation headed by the General Director, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vladimir Semenovich Nikitin has visited the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the main activities of VIAM, research and testing facility, laboratories, high-tech small-scale production, and talked with the experts of the institute.

General Director of VIAM, Academician Evgeny Kablov has told the guests about the tasks and plans the Institute is facing in the short term as well as the strategic directions of development of materials and their processing technologies for the period up to 2030. He has paid special attention to VIAM promising developments in creating new generation of materials and, in particular, additive technologies, which are one of the key directions of development of the domestic industry.

Vladimir Nikitin has noted the high scientific and industrial potential of the Institute and stressed that Krylovskiy center and VIAM are connected by long-term cooperation. He expressed confidence that it will continue to develop successfully.

In his turn, the scientific director of the Krylovsky center, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vitaly Khoroshev has noted that many promising young scientists and engineers work at VIAM thanks to well-organized training system, transfer of experience and well-equipped institute facility with modern equipment.

The parties have also held a meeting at which the prospects of cooperation in certain areas have been discussed.

At the end of the visit Eugeny Kablov has presented the guests his book "Trends and Landmarks of Innovative Development of Russia".
