On October, 20, 2015 Cand. of Sc. (Tech.) Elvira Arginbaeva and Pavel Min, representatives of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the work of the scientific and technical conference “Klimov readings-2015. Advanced directions of the development of aircraft engine building”. The event was held at a branch of OJSC “Klimov” in St.-Petersburg.
Within the framework of the reading the employees of VIAM made reports at the conference section “Advanced technologies and materials, applied in aircraft engine building”. Pavel Min spoke about the researches of influence of high impurity contents of silicon, sulfur and phosphorus on the structure and mechanical properties of single-crystal heat-resisting nickel alloys. In turn, Elvira Arginbaeva reported about the researches of advanced heat-resisting intermetallic nickel alloys for components of helicopter gas turbine engines.
It should be added, that the representatives of VIAM also visited the museum of OJSC “Klimov”, where they got acquainted with the history and achievements of the enterprise.
As Elvira Arginbaeva informed, “the conference allowed the participants not only to present their reports and speak about projects, but also to listen to the colleagues` comments, and pick up available information”. Pavel Min also noticed that it was very important for materials scientists to participate in such events, because “Exchanging information and experience in this particular way may lead to interesting thoughts and promising ideas.”
