On September, 21, 2015 the Commission of the Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC) began its work at the branch of VIAM – G.V. Akimov Gelendzhik Climatic Testing Center within the framework of a supervisory control of the Testing center (TC) of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials.

So that, on October, 22 representatives of AR IAC were reported about the possibilities of the Center and performed tests and they were acquainted with modern laboratory equipment, samples of materials and structural components, represented in an exposed atmospheric station.

Then the Commission initiated a check, whether GCTC VIAM complies with the requirements set out in the regulatory documents of AR IAC in issues concerning personnel qualifications, availability of testing equipment and measuring instruments, and also availability of required regulatory documentations.

As Cand. of Sc. (Tech.) Aleksey N. Lutsenko , Head of Testing Center (HTC) reported: “This examination makes it possible to assess objectively  the possibilities of TC VIAM, the efficiency of quality management system and personnel skill level”.

The Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC) is nongovernmental organization and was established in 1991 after the collapse of USSR and its Ministry of civil aviation. AR IAC is accountable to none of Governments of the CIS countries on the status. The Interstate Aviation Committee was also established by Governments of the CIS countries; however it has an independent status.

AR IAC responsibilities include:

- To determine compliance with standard construction of an aircraft, engine, bolt against JARs

- To certify production and repair of aircraft, engines and components of “A” category; to certify AR developers;

- To develop JARs and airworthiness standards.

G.V. Akimov Gelendzhik Climatic Testing Center is situated on the western coast of Gelendzhik bay. The Center has all technical opportunities to conduct full-scale researches to estimate reliability of wide range of hi-tech products.

GCTC VIAM is the only climatic center in Russia allowing to perform complex tests of materials, components of structures and articles as well as optimization of protective systems against corrosion, ageing and biological damages in the coastal climatic condition.
