On September 3, 2015 Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) arrived in Saransk on business, where he held a meeting with Vladimir D. Volkov, the Head of the Republic of Mordovia.
Andrew G. Svinarenko, Director General of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs, deputy chief executive of OJSC RUSNANO, and Academician of RAS, Gennady Ya. Krasnikov, Director General of the Research Institute for Molecular Electronics and Micron, also took part in the meeting.
In the course of the meeting following issues were discussed: work of the Scientific and Technical Council of Autonomous Institute "Technopark-Mordovia" under the chairmanship of Evgeny Kablov, and further plans and prospects of development of Technopark for the coming year. Besides issues of substitution of imported goods and development of innovative technologies at enterprises of the Republic were under discussion.
The participants of the meeting attached great attention to issues of education and training of highly-qualified personnel for the scientific and industrial infrastructure of Mordovia. It is worthy of note that the Republic lyceum for gifted children plays one of the leading roles in this field, and according to Vladimir Volkov, it is ranked one of the ten best educational institutions in Russia in such disciplines as physics and astronomy.
In turn, Evgeny Kablov pointed out, that : "the education at the lyceum gives an opportunity to schoolchildren to obtain new knowledge and adopt experience and skills from the best teachers of the Republic and Russian scientific centers. In his opinion, the lyceum for gifted children is an important part in the innovative system of personnel training, developed in Mordovia. "After finishing education at this lyceum young people are able to enter the best higher educational institutions of the region and of the country, and in the future use their talents and knowledge at leading enterprises of the Republic", - he said.
It is worthy of note that in 2014 VIAM and the Republic of Mordovia jointly held the contest "Materials scientist of the future", in which school graduates of Mordovia educational institutions took part. Winners were awarded with the right to study at leading technical higher educational institutions on a state-subsidized basis, and also to receive further education, practical training and an opportunity to receive advanced training at VIAM.
