On March 25-30, 2015, the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of aviation Materials is taking part in the International Aviation and Space Show MAKS-2015.
VIAM presents a large-scale exposition (hall D2), where the visitors of the Air Show can get acquainted with the main trends and the latest achievements of the Institute in the field of materials science.
In particularly, example parts of advanced engine PD-14 (swirler and stabilizer of the front combustion chamber) produced by additive technologies and also impact-resistant organic glasses, unique lacquer coatings and fragments of structural components of aviation engineering, for development of that materials and technologies of new generation were applied are presented at the booth.
A demonstrator of the system for determination of deformation of polymer composite materials and also a prototype of scanner for automated non-destructive testing of composite components of aircraft under operating conditions are in focus of the exposition.
Andrew Yu. Vorobyev, Governor of the Moscow Region, visited the booth of VIAM in the course of the survey of air show exposition. Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the Institute, told the Head of the Region about the developments in the field of additive technologies.
Opening MAKS-2015, Vladimir V. Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, pointed out that “regardless of the current international political situation, MAKS, as before, will serve as an effective platform for experts communication, development of production cooperation and search for new partners”.
It should be noted, that on August 28, a press conference of academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM, on the subject "Materials and technologies of a new generation for advanced aerospace engineering" will take place at the Congress Center of the Air Show (Hall C5) from 10:00 to 12:00.
A special issue of the newspaper “The Industry. Engineering newspaper” timed to the opening of the Air Show was prepared with the assistance of VIAM.
It should be noted, that the International Aviation and Space Show is situated in Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow. Its main aims are demonstration of Russian high technologies and openness of the Russian market for joint projects with foreign partners. MAKS is being held under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation.
