The All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) is taking part in the International Industrial Exhibition INNPROM-2015, which is being held on July 8-11, 2015 in Ekaterinburg.
The show-stand of VIAM demonstrates the developments of the Institute in the field of additive technologies. In particular, the visitors can get acquainted with samples of parts for the advanced aircraft engine PD-14 (front combustion chamber swirler and stabilizer), which were produced by additive technologies using domestic metal-powder composition. “This work has been done for our industrial partner “Aviadvigatel” OJSC with the use of a fundamentally new additive technology providing a reduction in labour consumption and an increase of metal utilization factor several times as much,” Svyatoslav Nerush, a representative of VIAM pointed out.
Svyatoslav Nerush also took part in a panel discussion devoted to “Additive technologies as the sixth technological mode: Russian and international experience on scientific and technical developments and their commissioning”. In the course of the event he made a report about prospects and issues of commissioning of additive technologies for synthesis of complex parts of gas turbine engines.
It should be noted, that the International Industrial Exhibition INNPROM – 2015 is being held at one of the largest expo-complexes of Russia – International Exhibition Center “Ekaterinburg-EXPO”. This year, China has become the first international partner that adhered to the exhibition. More than 150 events of various formats will be held in the course of INNOPROM – 2015. In 2014, about 600 companies from 70 countries were presented at INNOPROM, more than 30 international delegations visited Ekaterinburg.
