On June 29-July 1, 2015, the representatives of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) Alexei Shestakov, Natalia Shvets, Alexander Novikov, Natalia Kitaeva and Roman Shitov participated in the XIII Andrianov conference "Organic silicon compounds. Synthesis, properties, application". The event was held at the A.N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds of RAS (Russian abbreviation – INEOS RAS) and was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of academician Kuzma A. Andrianov – an outstanding Russian chemist, who had added a new chapter to the science and by right is called as the father of the chemistry of silicones.
The participants of the conference have discussed the most topical issues, trends and prospects of the organic silicon chemistry. A particular attention was paid to new methods for the synthesis of organic silicon monomers and polymers, to studies of the structure and properties of organic silicon compounds, as well as to new organic silicon materials and promising areas of their application.
It should be noted that in the frame of this scientific forum the employees of VIAM have presented two posters: "Development of polymer binders - precursors for production of composite materials with ceramic matrices" and "Studies of properties of coatings based on organic silicon copolymers modified with linear oligoorganosiloxanes with different molecular weight."
