On June 8, 2015, the delegation, which included representatives of "Perm Scientific-Industrial Instrument Making Company" JSC (PNPPK), "Inversion Sensor" Ltd and the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of Ural Branch of RAS (ICMM UB of RAS) have visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

During the visit, a tripartite agreement on scientific and technological cooperation was signed by Academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General of VIAM, Alexey G. Andreev, Director General of "PNPPK" and Ivan S. Shelemba, director of "Inversion Sensor".

According to the agreement, the parties will cooperate in the development and manufacture of fiber optic sensors and interrogator systems, as well as in the field of materials science and built-in controls to solve specific problems within the framework of the implementation of joint projects on fiber condition monitoring of various designs. In particular, it is planned that specialists of VIAM will carry out the development, testing and calibration of fiber optic systems for embedded control of composite structures.

"The agreement is of a great importance to create high-quality domestic products which will be competitive both on the domestic and foreign market", - noted Evgeny Kablov in this regard. In addition, he emphasized that "for this purpose VIAM has not only a great experience, but also comprehensive modern science, technology, production and testing facilities."

By the way, prior to the signing of the agreement, the guests were acquainted with the research and testing facilities of VIAM, its laboratories and high-tech small-tonnage production bays. Specialists of the Institute demonstrated the operation of the unique equipment, and informed the guests on the latest developments of VIAM in the field of materials science.

Representatives of the companies and the ICMM UB RAS noted the importance of works being done in the Institute in the field of materials science not only in the interests of the aerospace branch, but also in other domestic industries.
