On June 1-5, 2015, Elena Dolgova, representative of VIAM has visited the V International Conference-school on chemistry and physical chemistry of oligomers took place at Volgograd State Technical University. Lectures of leading scientists, oral presentations and poster sessions were included in the scientific program.

During the event, Elena Dolgova presented the poster "Features of oligomerization of epoxy-cyanate systems." It particularly, the poster was dedicated to studies of chemical reactions at curing of epoxy-cyanate mixtures at temperatures below 150 ° C, and to the results of studies of properties of cured polymer matrixes on their base.

According to Elena Dolgov, oral reports of the participants of the conference and plenary lectures of famous scientists, such as academicians of RAS A.A. Berlin, I.A. Novakov, Corresponding Member of RAS S.A. Ponomarenko, Dr. of Sc. (Tech.) V.V. Kireyev, I.D. Simonov-Emelyanov, A.E. Chalykh and others were presented at the conference. These works were devoted to the study of the structure and properties of oligomers, the curing kinetics of oligomer systems. In addition, the great attention was paid to the interaction mechanisms of reactive oligomers and to the prospects of putting of nano-modifiers into oligomer systems. The plenary lectures of A.E. Chalykh "Diffusion in oligomers", I.D. Simonov-Emelyanov "Dispersive-filled oligomer systems. Structure. Technology. Properties", E.R. Badamshina "Nano-modified epoxy oligomers - literature data and own results" highlighted the current state of researches in these areas of oligomers chemistry. In addition, reports on the development of flame-retardant materials and coatings were presented at the second session "Polymer materials of low flammability".

The Conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Russian Academy of Sciences, Federal Agency for Research Organizations (FANO of Russia), Department of Chemistry and Materials Science of RAS, Scientific Council on Macromolecular Compounds of RAS, Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of RAS, Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics (IPCP RAS) and Volgograd State Technical University.

It should be noted that conferences on oligomers are held regularly at least one time in 4-5 years, and between the conferences - Schools of young scientists. During this time, since 1977, 11 conferences and 4 schools were held, which attracted the attention of the scientific community both in the Soviet Union and Russia and in foreign countries. The conferences were held in Chernogolovka (1977, 1994, 2002), Alma-Ata (1979), Odessa (1986, 2005), Perm (1988, 2000), Nalchik (1990), Kazan (1997, 2011), Dnepropetrovsk (2003) Petrozavodsk (2007), Volgograd (2009) and Yaroslavl (2013).
