On May 21, 2015, Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) has visited the Scientific-Production Amalgamation “IRE-Polus”, which is a manufacturer of industrial fiber-optic lasers.

In the course of the visit, Evgeny Kablov became acquainted with a processing line for production of industrial fiber-optic lasers and serial units based on them. In addition, he discussed the possibility of creation of robotic technological complex for mastering of modes of laser cutting, laser welding, laser surface hardening, laser deposition of powder materials, and laser marking according to the requirements specification submitted by VIAM. “Installation of robotic system at VIAM allows us to investigate structural materials and their welded joints comprehensively and to issue the regulatory documents required for introduction of laser technologies at enterprises of aviation industry”- Evgeny Kablov pointed out.

It should be noted, that earlier Denis V. Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, set a task to facilitate the introduction of efficient technologies, including laser technologies, in the industry.
