On May 15, 2015, the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM), and Regional Engineering Center of Industrial Laser Technology "KAI-Laser" have signed a cooperation agreement

According to the document, the parties will cooperate in the development of laser technology in the following areas: laser cutting, laser welding, laser surface hardening, laser deposition of powder materials, laser marking, etc., and in training of engineering personnel and conduction of experimental-design works.

It should be mentioned that in frame of his visit to Kazan Academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General of VIAM, visited «KAI - Laser» OJSC on April 20, 2015, where he got acquainted with the infrastructure of the Center and discussed the possibility of implementation of promising joint projects with specialists of the Center.

It should be noted that earlier Denis V. Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, set a task to promote the introduction of efficient technologies in the industry, including implementation of the laser technologies at the enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"KAI-Laser" was opened in 2013 at the base of training center of the Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO).

"KAI-Laser" is equipped with high-tech equipment based on optical fiber lasers for metalworking that allows performing all manufacturing operations (cutting, welding, hardening, cleaning, deposition, marking and milling) with high quality and efficiency.

Laser technologies are applied in the automotive, aircraft and helicopter industries, shipbuilding and machine tool building industry.
