On 31 March, 2015 the scheduled meeting of the dissertation council has taken place in the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) on which two thesis presentations for a degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences were considered.
Irina A. Sharova, acting sector chief in VIAM, has presented the candidate thesis “Epoxy cold hardening adhesives for agglutination and repair of aviation hardware parts”.
The aim of this thesis is creation of high-strength cold hardening adhesives for constructional purposes with new special properties and also development of manufacturing and repair technology, including operative one, for agglutinated structures of metals and PCM using developed adhesives.
Then Anatoly L. Yakovlev, sector chief in VIAM, has presented his thesis “The role of gadolinium in change of structure, phase composition and performance properties of heat-resistant titanium alloy VT38 at high temperatures up to 700 C degrees” to attention of the council.
The actuality of this work is conditioned by increased temperature of aerodynamic heating of wings, fairings and other units’ surfaces with increasing speed of flight. In this connection the necessity has arisen to develop structural sheet titanium alloys of high temperature applications.
According to results of discussion and further voting the dissertation council has decided to confer academic degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences to Irina A. Sharova and Anatoly L. Yakovlev.
