On December, 24, 2014, Victor Sidorov, the head of section of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials and Alexander Babin, the employee of press-service visited a premiere screening of popular-science film “The Effect of Rhenium”, its shooting had taken place in some areas including the territory of VIAM.
In the course of the event creators of the film reported about the shooting process, answered numerous questions and also thanked those, who had been involved in realization of this interesting and unique project. In particular, Dmitry Semibratov, the producer of the film, expressed his sincere appreciation to leaders and collective of VIAM for helping in preparation and shooting of one of the episodes, which had been dedicated to manufacturing technology of heat-resistant rhenium-bearing alloys.
In the near future the film will be demonstrated by one of the central Russian TV channels, and also will be translated into English.
It should be noted, that the film tells about rhenium which is the rarest chemical element in our planet. Besides the shooting at VIAM, the creators of the picture together with specialists in geology visited the Iturup, where they investigated the volcano Kudriavy, a potential source of rhenium.
