On September 17, 2014, Testing Center of VIAM has been accredited by the well-known Russian company JSC Transneft to carry out tests. 

The research institute of transport of oil and oil products included the Testing Center of VIAM in the register of test laboratories (centers) which had confirmed their compliance to requirements to test products intended for facilities of Transneft JSC, including mechanical tests of base metal and welded joints of pipes and connecting pieces of pipelines. 

Accreditation certificate was received following the results of the inspection, which took place at the end of August. The inspection confirmed high qualification of employees of VIAM and availability of up-to-date equipment in laboratories of the institute.

Transneft JSC is the largest in the world Russian state oil-transportation monopoly exploiting over 70 thousand kilometers of main pipelines; it transports about 90 % of oil extracted in Russia, about 30 % of oil products made in the country, and also considerable volumes of hydrocarbon raw materials of CIS countries.
