Representatives of All-Russian scientific-research institute of аviation materials (VIAM) took part in the youth conference «Junior Euromat 2014», which was held from 21 to 25 of July of the current year in Swiss city Lausanne and was dedicated to materials science.
From 21 to 23 of July officers of VIAM Roman Vakhromov and El’vira Аrginbaeva presented their poster reports. Besides, they highlighted and told to participants of the conference about main directions of work of the institute, and also about incentive system of young scientists and specialists.
On 22 of July Roman Vakhromov and El’vira Arginbaeva made verbal reports at the conference section. The reports were dedicated to the development of aluminum-lithium alloys and multistage regimes of heat-treatment, and also to a research of influence of liquation heterogeneity on the structure and heat-resistance of rhenium - containing intermetallic alloys on the nickel base.
On 24 of July representative of VIAM Anna Samatadze made a report, dedicated to the influence of small additions of plasticizer on properties of polymer porous materials. The reports arouse interest of M.Shvan from the Aerospace institute of Cologne and F.Visser from Dresden technological institute. At the same time, according to Anna Samatadze, «considerable attention of the audience attracted the report of German specialist S. Gud: «The new technologies for manufacture of integral «sandwich»-type structures».
On 25 of July an employee of VIAM Svyatoslav Nerush made a report about the study of high-chromium powders manufactured by atomization method with reference to GTE critical parts repair by means of Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) method. He mentioned in the report that VIAM made a complex work on the development of manufacturing technology of metallic powders and their implementation in JSC «АVIADVIGATEL» for repair of GTE parts.
Besides, Svyatoslav Nerush stressed that VIAM created a closed cycle of additive manufacturing. The report arouse interest of representatives of Bochum University (Germany), D.Bergol’ts from Belfort technological university (France).
As Roman Vakhromov reported, «at the conference more than 300 reports on 14 scientific directions were presented. 21 specialists participated at the conference from Russia». «A large number of reports on magnesium alloys with lithium additions and rare-earth metals having higher corrosion-resistance were made at the conference section devoted to developments in the field of metallic materials", he stressed.
Elvira Arginbaeva mentioned, «Еuropean scientists pay significant attention to the research of influence of heat-treatment and the methods of alloys manufacture on titanium base including intermetallic ones, and also a research of heat-resistant nickel alloys».
It should be reminded that «Junior Euromat» conference has been holding from the year of 1992 and presents an opportunity for young specialists from different countries to change opinions on a wide range of problems in the field of materials science and engineering.
