On April 8 - 11, 2014, representatives of VIAM took part in «Gagarin Lectures», The 40th International Youth Scientific Conference devoted to the 80 anniversary of the birth of the first astronaut.
The event took place in K.E. Tsiolkovsky Russian State Technological University ("MATI" – RGTU).
Twenty-five young specialists of VIAM took part in the work of three sections and made 19 reports.
Following the results of the conference, two employees of VIAM were awarded by diplomas for prospective scope and practical importance of their works.
Namely, Maria Akinina was awarded for the report «An influence of structural factor on the superplasticity effect in MA20-type Mg alloy», and Anastasia Istrakova – for the report «Titanium alloys for disks of gas turbine engines».
In addition, M. V. Akinina, D. I. Dinmukhametova, O. G. Kirillova, Ya.S. Kuzin, P. V. Matveev, Ya.Yu. Nikitin, V.A. Romanenko, A.A. Smirnov and D.V. Ogorodov, authors of oral reports, were awarded by the diploma of the Astronautics Federation of Russia «For active participation in the work of the conference».
