Andrey Shavnev represented the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) at a specialized seminar on metallography and sample preparation held on November 4-6, 2013 at the site of ATM GmbH in Germany. The seminar is carried out annually for customers from Russia and CIS countries.

«Reports on problems and features of preparation of samples from different materials for metallographic researches were presented to the participants of the seminar», – informed Andrey Shavnev. He noted, that «the guests had an opportunity to examine the full cycle of sample preparation −starting from the cutting up to the polishing; also they visited production bays of the company in order to observe the production cycle – beginning from the manufacturing, assembly and up to the finished goods».

It should be noted, that the company had established a research laboratory equipped with a wide range of test devices. The specialists of the laboratory develop techniques for different types of materials. «Participants of the seminar paid a special attention to the automated line for preparation of samples for metallographic researches», – Andrey Shavnev emphasized in this regard. 

The representative of VIAM noted the high level of the demonstrated modern equipment and quality of finished products and professionalism of the staff of ATM GmbH.
