October 30, 2013 at the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) the conference «Adhesive materials for aviation purposes», timed to 110-anniversary from a birthday of the prominent scientist in the field of creation of polymeric adhesives and gluing technologies , Doctor if the Technical Sciences David Alexeevich Kardashov took place.
Under his leadership for the first time in domestic industry unique adhesives were developed, including film ones, for structural purposes, applied at creation of aircrafts and helicopters. Moreover, D.A.Kardashov took part in organization of their commercialization.
Theoretical and applied investigations of D.A.Kardashov in the field of adhesive properties of polymer materials, synthesis and practical application of adhesives in engineering, presented in his monograph and other issues, became an important contribution in science of high-molecular compositions. He is an author of more, than 100 scientific works, but his monograph «Synthetic adhesives» was translated into many languages and became a text-book for some generations of specialists, involving in development and application of adhesives.
The aim, that was set by organizers of this conference – to familiarize specialists of aviation enterprises and other branches of industry with new developments in the field of adhesives: structural film and paste ones, functional, including thermal resistant ones and for gluing together of non-metallic materials. A special attention was paid by specialists to a preparation of a surface for gluing and to a technology of gluing. The issues of application adhesives in various articles of aeronautical engineering were also considered.
