On October 10, 2013 academician Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of FSUE “VIAM” told about activities of the institute to the survey squad of TV channel «Russia 24». 

In particular, in the interview he emphasized that «creation of new materials, technologies and structures should be completely interconnected». Evgeny Kablov reminded that «for the complex solution of material science tasks VIAM had carried out an analysis of development strategy of  state corporations and integrated structures for the next 15−20 years and worked out «The  Strategic development priorities of materials and technologies for their processing for a period until 2030» on this basis. «In this document tendencies of development of materials science are defined in interrelation with tasks of aerospace industry, missile armament, engine building, power industry, railway transport and construction industry», he informed.

In addition, Evgeny Kablov told that VIAM give a special attention to «green technologies», problems of production waste utilization and minimization of their environmental impact. 
Moreover, during the interview a number of problems of personnel potential of the industry, social support of young scientists and specialists, creation of a united network of climatic testing centers and some other subjects were discussed.
