The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (NRC "Kurchatov Institute" - VIAM) became one of 26 state research centers included in the list of backbone organizations of the Russian economy. This decision was made according to results of meeting of the subcommittee on improving the stability of the financial sector and certain sectors of the economy of the Government Commission on improving the stability of the Russian economy under sanctions.

Inclusion in the list of backbone organizations means the recognition of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" - VIAM as a strategically important scientific organization having national importance and set of measures of state support.

Prior to the meeting of the above subcommittee, extensive preparatory work was made to substantiate the inclusion of the State Research Center of RF in the list of backbone organizations of the Russian economy, which was organized and conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia together with the Association "NAUKA" and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

It should be added, that today the Association "NAUKA" unites 43 state research centers of the Russian Federation.
