The photo exhibition “Moscow Enterprises to the Stars!” Opened in Fili Park Timed to the 65th Anniversary of the Launch of the First Artificial Earth Satellite. She talks about the contribution of the capital's industrialists to the conquest of space. The exhibition will run until April 30, 2022.
The project involves 20 industrial enterprises of the capital, including the All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials (NRC "Kurchatov Institute" - VIAM).
The first artificial Earth satellite PS-1 (“The Prosteishy Sputnik-1”) was launched on October 4, 1957 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. For 92 days, he made 1440 turns around the planet, flying about 60 million kilometers. The satellite was made of aluminum alloy AMg6 developed at our institute.
