Gederal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) summed up the results of analysis of all patents issued in the second half of 2020 and published the list of 100 best inventions. The development of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) is among the best inventions.
The invention “Method of manufacturing of addition alloys in a vacuum arc furnace with a permanent electrode” authored by Evgeny N. Kablov, Pavel G. Min, Vitaly E. Vadeev and Vadim V. Kramer was granted with an award.
The application of this innovation will allow extending the assortment of the produces addition alloys for alloyage of materials of various grades. For instance, addition of high-quality ruthenium-nickel and hafnium-nickel addition alloys during melting of nickel superalloys allows increasing the recovery of noble element ruthenium and rare metal hafnium, which provides stable high mechanical characteristics of the alloys including their heat resistance.
Beginning in 2007 Rospatent and FIPS (the Federal Institute for Industrial Property) have been drawing up the lists of the best inventions of the year. The main purpose of this selection is the promotion of innovation activity, development of the market of the results of intellectual activity and investment attraction into the innovation sector. When selecting 100 best inventions compliance with the science and technology priority growth areas in the Russian Federation, relevance of the task in hand and application in manufacturing are considered foremost.
