On December 27^th, 2019 the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) held the general assembly where the results of the Institute and its subsidiaries work within this year were summarized, as well as the prospects and plans for the next year 2020 were considered.

The VIAM Director General, Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov made a report on the year in review. He reported about the main financial and economic figures and thanked the personnel of the Institute for the great work performed for the benefit of the Russian science and industry. “In advanced countries the materials science is one of the key directions; the new materials and advanced technologies play a great role. Without implementation of the new generation materials the national aviation equipment is noncompetitive at the world market. That is why our work, work of every VIAM employee is so important for our country”, - Evgeny Kablov marked.

The VIAM Director General also reported on the volume of the manufactured products, scientific and technological activities, new scientific and production directions and commercialization of the intellectual deliverables.

The VIAM first Deputy Director General Olga G. Ospennikova informed the participants of the general assembly about the results of the Institute’s work under government contracts, on the manufactured equipment and scientific and production activity of the Institute’s branches. She also reviewed the conferences held by VIAM, participation of the VIAM specialists in various exhibitions, seminars and publishing activity as well as marked out the best year-end trainers and employees who had successfully passed Ph.D. defense.

The VIAM Deputies Directors General Vladislav V. Antipov and Denis V. Graschenkov made their reports on the exact projects performed for the benefit of the aircraft industry.

In conclusion of the assembly the VIAM Director General set challenges to the Institute for the next year, thanked the employees for their fruitful work and encouraged them not to stop on the achieved success and wished them all the best for the upcoming New Year.
