On October 30-31, 2019 the expert committee of JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel”, JSC “VASO” and JSC “PZMash” made an assessment of VIAM manufacturing performance within the framework of contract obligations for supply of polymer composite materials for production of PD-14 engine nacelle’s parts.
Based on the audit results the expert committee has come to a decision that the manufactured products quality meets the requirements of the regulatory documents.
It is worth reminding that JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel” in partnership with VIAM designed and produced the PD-14 engine nacelle from polymer composite materials for the first time in national engineering and technological practices.
Based on conducted researches the VIAM has developed a new generation of high stress-strain heat-resistant binding agents, PCM and functional materials with a high level of physical, mechanical and operational properties that have been implied into the design of engine nacelle. The application of technology of manufacturing of engine nacelle’s parts and units from PCM provided the reduction of weight for at least 20% (in comparison with parts and unit made from aluminum alloys).
VIAM conducts series supplies of prepregs of carbon fiber reinforced plastics and glass fiber reinforced plastics to the companies cooperating in design and production of nacelle. Samples manufacturing and performance of tests as well as development of structurally similar samples and demo-samples of engine nacelle’s parts is performed conjointly with JSC “PZMash”, JSC “ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin”, JSC “VASO” and PNRPU.
