February 21^st, 2019 the high-profile ceremony of awarding the prizewinners of the all-Russian award “Engineer of the Year-2018” took place in the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations (RosSNIO).

The award decides the best specialists of engineering branch of science in 44 nominations in two versions: “Professional engineers” – for employees with not less than 5 years of work experience in engineering positions, and “Youth Engineering Art” – for young specialists up to 30 years inclusive. The award decision is made in two steps.

This year the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) employees joined the ranks of prizewinners. In “Professional engineers” nomination Sergei Evdokimov and Andrei Ivanov have become the prizewinners. In “Youth Engineering Art” nomination the prize has been awarded to Olga Bityutskaya, Maxim Gribkov, Sergei Larionov, Olga Krupnina, Alexander Leonov, Vitalii Vadeev. 

All prizewinners were awarded with the appropriate awards, certificates, “Russian Professional Engineer” silver medals and “Prizewinner” commemorative medals.

The “Engineer of the year” award is organized by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations (RosSNIO), International Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations, Academy of Engineering Science n.a. A.M. Prokhorov, Interregional Social Fund of Scientific and Technological Progress Support. The main purpose of the award is recognizing of the top leaders of the engineering field, raising of interest to this profession among young people and promoting the status value of the engineering labor itself.
