January 17th, 2019 the State Zhukovsky Prize award ceremony for 2018 year prizewinners took place. The best contributions were awarded with prize – scientific studies in aviation theory including aerodynamics, hydromechanics, combustion theory, airplanes and engines theory of strength.
Prizewinner of 2018 were chosen in the end of December on the session of award jury, with 12 Academicians and 4 Associates of the Russian Academy of Science sitting on. According to the results of the voting the second degree prize was awarded to the following VIAM employees – Nadezhda Alekseevna Nochovnaya, Olga Anatol’evna Bazylyova, Dmitriy Evgen’evich Kablov, Pavel Vasil’evich Panin – for their monograph “Titan and nickel based intermetallide alloys”.
The writing team has made great job in selection, classification and analysis of the collected data by domestic and foreign scientists, as well as the results of their own unique researches in the field of production, studying and commercial introduction of the heat-resistant titan and nickel based alloys for gas turbine engines and power plants. The scientific publication was made under the editorship of VIAM Director General, Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov. The book is directed to the employees of aircraft, space and related industries, whose area of expertise includes development and application of the intermellide alloys.
The official presentation of the monograph “Titan and nickel based intermetallide alloys” was held during 31st Moscow International Book Fair.
It is necessary to notice that the silver medal has been passed to the VIAM Museum.
State Zhukovsky Prize was established on December 2rd, 1920 by the order of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR “In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the scientific activity of N.E. Zhukovsky”. The Prize is annually awarded to the Russian scientists by the jury, which includes the key scientists, as well as academicians and corresponding members of RAS. At different times the Prize was awarded to our outstanding countrymen – S.A. Chaplygin (1925), A.N. Tupolev (1958), V.N. Chelomei (1964) and other famous USSR and the Russian Federation scientists. The organizer of the event is FSUE “TsAGI”.
