On September 26, 2018, AVIC Manufacturing Technology Institute headed by Vice-President of the Institute Zeng Yuansong visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

During the meeting the parties discussed prospects for avenues of cooperation in the field of titanium, magnesium, high-strength aluminum and aluminum-lithium alloys, metal-powder composites of heat-resistant alloys for additive technologies, polymer composite materials. The parties also considered issues on cooperation in the field of corrosion protection technologies of metallic materials of airframe, nondestructive testing methods and equipment for additive technologies.

In addition, the representatives of VIAM and AVIC MTI discussed a project of agreement on strategic cooperation.

It should be noted, that during the visit the Chinese guests got acquainted with the exposition of the institute, where components of aviation and space engineering, developed from materials of VIAM, were presented. 

They paid special attention to the model of A.G. Akimov Gelendzhik Climatic Testing Center, on the basis of which it was planned to establish scientific and educational center for training engineering personnel in the direction “Corrosion, ageing and bioproofness”.

AVIC MTI was founded in 1957. The institute specializes in aviation manufacturing technologies, materials and equipment. Headquarters are located in Beijing.
