On October 4, 2018, Alexander Prokhorov, Head of metropolitan Department for investment and industrial policy visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

He got acquainted with scientific-research and manufacturing capacities of the institute as follows: laboratories and high-technology low-tonnage productions, manufacturing over 230 items of materials for complex technical systems, different engineering.

He was presented scientific and manufacturing complexes of serial production of cast bar stocks of heat-resistant alloys, heat treatment, welding, ion-plasma coatings, isothermal forging of heat-resistant alloys, casting of single-crystal blades of GTE, GTU.

Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM spoke about the work performed by the institute - from basic and applied research to the development of materials, technologies, equipment, issuing regulatory documentation and organizing low-tonnage production.

Alexander Prokhorov paid particular attention to additive manufacturing of parts of complex technical systems organized at VIAM. He also noted the high level of VIAM`s availability of modern high-technology equipment.
