On November 8, 2018, the Russian-Chinese scientific and technical symposium “Advanced materials for modern aviation engineering of the 21st century” took place in Beijing. The main aim of symposium was the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of fundamental and applied scientific and research works as well as production of new materials for civil aviation engineering.
In the course of the meeting, representatives of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials made reports on metallic, polymer composite and functional materials produced by VIAM.
Deputy Director General of VIAM, Vladislav V. Antipov spoke about prospects for development of titanium and nickel intermetallic alloys for aircraft products as well as additive technologies for products of aviation engineering.
Leading engineer , Evgeny V. Kolyadov made a report on high heat-resistant materials of new generation developed by FSUE “VIAM” and manufacturing technologies of semi-finished products from them for advanced GTE.
Head of laboratory, Pavel V. Timoshkov reported about modern polymer composite materials for constructions of aviating engineering.
Head of laboratory, Anton E. Sorokin spoke about modern thermoplastic and functional composites for aviation.
According to the results of the symposium the Russian and the Chinese specialists noted actuality of the presented reports and drew their attention to importance of extending mutually beneficial cooperation by performing joint scientific works, experience exchange and education of specialists.
