On November 13, 2018, the XXVI meeting of the Working Group on Aircraft Building of the Russian-French Council on Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Issues was held in Moscow.
Director of the Aviation Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Ravil R. Khakimov headed the Russian delegation, and Head of the Mission for International Cooperation of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), Bertrand de Lacombe chaired the French delegation. VIAM was represented by Deputy Director General of the Institute Vladislav V. Antipov.
The participants considered the issues of embedding the Russian companies in the supplier chain of “Airbus” and discussed the possibility of participation of the French companies in the project of creating a wide-body long-range aircraft (CR 929). In addition, they discussed cooperation in the field of aviation research, digital and additive technologies.
In the course of the meeting, Vladislav Antipov spoke about the additive production developed at the institute, modern developments and technological capabilities of VIAM in this area. He also spoke about proposals of VIAM for cooperation with the French companies in the field of materials science support of works on selective laser melting and direct laser growth, providing metal powder compositions developed by VIAM for approbation and implementation on AddUp and BeAM equipment.
The Russian-French Economic, Financial and Trade Council (CEFIC) is the key structure of the Russian-French commission on bilateral cooperation at the level of heads of government. Council meetings are held on a regular basis alternately in Russia and France.
