On September 9-13, 2018, Ivan Medvedev, a representative of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the European Corrosion Congress «EUROCORR-2018», which was held in Krakow, Poland.
On the section “Corrosion in aviation and spacecraft” Ivan Medvedev made a report on the development of an electrochemical model of anodic coatings based on aluminum alloys. The report presented a physical model of the electrochemical response of anodic-oxide coatings, which could be used to estimate the parameters of coatings.
It should be noted that an exhibition was held within the framework of the conference, at which equipment of the leading manufacturers of electrochemical monitoring systems was exhibited. Also visitors had an opportunity to look at new developments in the field of protection against corrosion: corrosion inhibitors, protective coatings.
«EUROCORR» is the largest progress in Europe on corrosion and methods of protection against it. Every year about thousand specialists participate in the conference and exhibition. This year, 47 organizations were represented at the exhibition; reports were presented at 21 specialized sections and 8 joint sections of working groups.
