On October 16 – 18, 2017, Oleg Mashkovsky and Alexander Soloviev, representatives of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the XXVI International Forum for Materials “TestXpo 2017”, which is traditionally held in Ulm, Germany. Zwick/Roell acted as the main organizer of the Forum. It is one of the leading global manufacturers of test equipment.
The latest developments in the field of test engineering as well as a wide range of equipment of firms, which were the members of Zwick/Roell, were presented at the exhibition. This year special emphasis was placed on automatic testing, which assumed to eliminate the influence of the human factor.
During “TestXpo 2017”, the employees of VIAM held a meeting with the representatives of Zwick/Roell, at which they discussed the peculiarities of using laser and videoextensometers to control deformations in low-cycle fatigue tests at room and elevated temperatures.
As Oleg Mashkovsky pointed out, “Forums of this kind give an opportunity not only to estimate directions and trends of development of modern test equipment but also to exchange experience with the colleagues in the field of material test and directly with designers of test equipment.
For twenty odd years the forum has turned from small exhibition into modern platform, where not only the entire manufacturing line and the latest developments in the field of test engineering of Zwick/Roell group of companies but also products of more than 25 partners from different testing fields are presented.
