On September 3-7, 2017, Ivan Medvedev, a representative of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the European Corrosion Congress «EUROCORR-2017», which was held in Prague, Czech Republic.
The scientific program of the event covered all aspects of corrosion science. The participants of «EUROCORR-2017» considered the latest achievements in the field of protection against corrosion, corrosion monitoring, issues relating to surface treatment and coating, non-destructive testing, electrochemical methods, analysis method and microscopy.
On September 5, on the section “Corrosion in aviation and spacecraft” Ivan Medvedev made a report about development of fiber-optic sensors sensitive to corrosive processes. “The developed elements can be used to estimate the probability of corrosion damages in hard to reach units in aviation engineering”, - representative of VIAM informed.
It should be noted that «EUROCORR» is the largest progress in Europe on corrosion and methods of protection against it. This year 1400 people from 55 countries participated in the work of scientific forum.
