On August 30, 2017, the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the fourth Afanasevskie reading, which took place as part of the enlarged presidium meeting of the Scientific and technical council of FSUE “NPO Tekhnomash” and STC section of state corporation “Roscosmos”.

The event was devoted to the 99^th anniversary of the birth of Sergey A. Afanasiev, the first Minister of General Machine Building of USSR, the twice Hero of Socialist Labor.

Before the beginning of the meeting, everyone interested could get acquainted with the exposition of scientific and technical achievements of the rocket and space industry enterprises.

The representatives of VIAM told the General Director of the state corporation Igor A. Komarov about breakthrough achievements of the institute in the field of additive technologies, as well as they demonstrated samples of parts, produced by this technology.

In the course of the meeting Gennady Klochkov, division head of Laboratory of aluminum deformable alloys of VIAM made a report, in which he spoke about advanced materials for products of rocket and space engineering.
