President Vladimir V. Putin has awarded the State Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology to academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM), in St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace on the Day of Russia.
As the President of Russia noted, "the ability to combine tradition and innovations characterizes the work of the outstanding scientist Evgeny Kablov. He developed a new generation of high-temperature materials, which are superior to their foreign counterparts making a major contribution to keeping the global leadership of our country in the priority areas of technological development". "Under the leadership of academician Kablov, the All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials has become one of the largest innovation structures. Successful researches, including development of materials and technologies for new aircraft engines are carried out at the Institute, "- said Vladimir Putin.
In turn, Evgeny Kablov thanked the President for the high appreciation and noted that his success is shared by the team of VIAM. In his speech, he stressed "that at all stages of development of the industry the role of materials in the creation of new equipment was crucial." According to Director General of VIAM, it is particularly important to develop this direction at the current stage of the development of Russia, when it enters into the sixth technological mode. "We need a new generation of materials, which are developed on the base of digital technology according to the principle of continuity: material - structure – technology," - said Eugene Kablov.
He said that similar materials have been yet created at VIAM. "They are used in various industries. This is particularly important for ensuring the technological independence of Russia under conditions, which the Russian economics faced recently with,"- said Director General of VIAM. Evgeny Kablov stressed that the tasks set during Putin's visit to VIAM in 2008 have been performed in full. To confirm his words, he said that "VIAM has created 21 innovative small-scale production bays to manufacture 210 materials and components, which cover the needs of industry, including import substitution."
"The Institute has accumulated a considerable scientific, production and human potential to become an inter-branch center for the development of a wide range of materials of new generation. In my opinion, and the experience of the Kurchatov Institute confirms it, the mainstream of development of Russian science is creation of a number of large national inter-industry research centers on the basis of breakthrough technologies. Such a task in the field of materials and technologies was set by you, and we will make the effort for its successful implementation ", - stated the Director General of VIAM. In conclusion, Evgeny Kablov congratulated all attendees on the Day of Russia.
It should be noted that the State Prize Laureates were named on June 10.
