EVGENY KABLOV – THE WINNER OF THE STATE PRIZE OF RUSSIA IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
On June 10, 2015, the decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin on awarding the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for 2014 was declared at a special briefing held in the Kremlin. The names of the winners of the State Prize were announced by Andrei Fursenko, aide of the President of the Russian Federation.
According to the presidential decree, the prize was awarded to academician Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials. The head of VIAM was awarded for the development of the new generation of high-temperature structural and functional materials, launching of high-tech small-scale production of materials and technologies for aviation, space, missile and special equipment with the purpose of import substitution.
In this regard, Andrei Fursenko said that the results of work performed under the leadership of Evgeny N. Kablov have already been put into practice to provide the import independence of Russia in these fields. "Now we have own advanced materials, special alloys, composites and technologies for their application," - said the aide of the Russian President commenting on the contribution of the Director General of VIAM to the science.
As the Russia's Information Agency reports, Andrei Fursenko also noted the great contribution made by the laureates of the State Prize in 2014 in the scientific training of young personnel. In particular, he emphasized that a significant portion of young people working at VIAM associate their future scientific activities with this largest Russian research center.
It should be noted that usually the solemn ceremony of presentation of the Russia's main award is held in the Kremlin on the Russia Day, on June 12.
The State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of Science and Technology is assigned by the President of Russia and is the highest recognition of merit of Russian scientists towards the society and the state. This prize is awarded for outstanding work, discoveries and achievements, the results of which enrich substantially the Russian and world science and have a significant impact on the scientific-technical progress.
