From 23 till 25 of September 2014 representatives of VIAM Michail Oglodkov and Andrey Trapeznikov took part in the international conference «Material Science Engineering» (MSE-2014), that was held on the territory of Technical University of Darmstadt ( Germany ).
In the frames of the event Michail Oglodkov made the report «Influence of thermal mechanical treatment on properties and structure of Al-Cu-Li-Mg-Zn system alloy». In particular, he told how a thermal-mechanical treatment influences on a phase composition, mechanical properties and fracture toughness of V-1461 aluminum-lithium alloy. «Application of the developed at VIAM three-step ageing regime allows to increase a fracture toughness of plates from V -1461 considerably (by30-40%), simultaneously a strength is kept on a high level», stressed Michail Oglodkov.
In his turn, Andrey Trapeznikov prepared a stand report « Centrifugal casting of poly-reinforced composite material on aluminum base», where he presented structures of castings from aluminum, reinforced with SiC, B4C particles, but also Si (in situ).
As Michail Oglodkov informed «аt MSE-2014 a great attention was paid to a development and investigation of intermetallic alloys TiAl и NiAl». According to him, in the presented works modern methods of computer simulation were widely used.
FOR REFERENCE
Technical university of Darmstadt was founded in the year of 1877. This is the world first educational institution, where teaching of electrical engineering as a separate subject started. At present the university is in the list of elite universities and the nine of technical schools in Germany.
