From 7 till 10 of September 2014 representatives of All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) Nadezhda Nochovnaya and Pavel Panin took part in the work of 29-th Congress of International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences ICAS-2014. The event was hold in Saint-Petersburg and under patronage of TsAGI after the name of N.E.Zhukovskiy
In frames of section part of the Congress Pavel Panin made a report «Low-cost titanium alloys for titanium-polymer layered composites». In his report he touched upon subjects of development of experimental pseudo-single-phase and two-phase low-cost titanium alloys, containing micro-additives of rare-earth metals and possessing a higher suitability for processing and resistance to contact corrosion.
The report roused a keen interest of the audience. In particular, employees of Boeing corporation and Politecnico di Milano (Italy) put their questions to Pavel Panin.
In the course of the event VIAM specialists also took a number of negotiations with representatives of MATI after the name of K.E.Tsiolkovskiy, Saint-Petersburg state polytechnic university, TsAGI and TsIAM. Moreover, Pavel Panin and Nadezhda Nochovnaya familiarized themselves with the presented at the Congress virtual simulator for Boeing 737-777 pilots, where they were told about the newest flight control systems.
It should be noted, that by invitation of organization committee ICAS-2014 its participants visited the leading scientific-research centers, enterprises of aeronautical industry and Saint-Petersburg universities.
