Processing tests of polymer composite materials of the new generation developed by VIAM were carried out in Kazan by representatives of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) and CJSC “Aerocomposit” at the plant of CJSC “Aerocomposit” on February 5 - 6, 2014.
«In particular, VKU-39 carbon-filled plastic panel was made here from new prepreg for carrying out comparison tests on compliance with the best world analogs», – reported Candidate of Sciences (Tech.) Dmitry I. Kogan, deputy director general of VIAM, the head of the delegation of VIAM.
According to him, the experts of CJSC “Aerocomposit” noted high quality and workability of the produced material.
In addition, Dmitry Kogan noted «the further comprehensive studies of the produced material with use of up-to-date research and test equipment are supposed to be carried out jointly by VIAM and CJSC “Aerocomposit”». «This new material is intended for manufacturing airframe structures, including components of engine nacelles and high-lift wing system», – he noted.
