From 17 till 21 of November 2014 the delegation of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials headed by the General Director of VIAM, Academician of RAS, Professor Evgeny Nicolaevich Kablov paid a visit to the People’s Republic of China. Guests from Moscow took part in the Chinese–Russian Symposium, visited scientific-manufacturing enterprises, where they hold a number of meetings and negotiations.
In particular, on the 17-th of November representatives of VIAM took part in The Third Chinese-Russian Scientific-Technical Symposium «Advanced Materials for Modern Civil Aeronautical Engineering of the XXI Century». VIAM and the Chinese academy of aviation fundamental engineering (AVIC TECH), were the organizers of the symposium. In the course of the event Russian and Chinese specialists made reports and told about their developments in the field of a materials science.
On the same day negotiations between VIAM and AVIC TECH took place, in the course of which Evgeny Kablov and the Vice-President of AVIC TECH Zhou Guoqiang considered a number of perspective items. The main theme was a cooperation in the field of additive technologies.
On November 18 the guests from Russia visited the Beijing aeronautical manufacturing technological research institute (BAMTRI), that is a part of AVIC TECH. The employees of VIAM familiarized themselves with the National laboratory on additive technologies, and hold negotiations with the President of BAMTRI Yang Shengqun, where perspectives of cooperation between the institutes were considered.
On November 19 the delegation of VIAM visited the company AVIC Composite Corporation Ltd. (ACC). Within the frames of the visit the negotiations with the general director of ACC professor Xie Fuyuan took place, where the subjects of cooperation in the field of polymer composite materials were touched upon.
On November 21, 2014 the VIAM delegation has visited Beijing Institute of Aviation Materials (BIAM) in China.
The guests from Moscow have acquainted with scientific laboratories and production capabilities of the institute. In particular, they examined the center of the development and manufacturing of cast heat-resistant nickel and titanium alloys, laboratory of aircraft glazing materials, laboratory of rubber and sealants, Center for connection and processing of metal structures under pressure.
In addition, negotiations on possible areas of cooperation with VIAM were held. In particular, the parties discussed the joint work in the field of gas turbine blades coating, the joint development of mold casting of precision titanium alloys, as well as technologies for metal powder compositions for metallurgy, high-energy processes and additive technology.
On the results of the meetings the negotiation between top management of the Chinese Academy of aircraft fundamental science AVIC TECH and VIAM were held. During the meeting, President of AVIC TECH Liu Lin and Evgeny Kablov have signed a protocol of intent, which aims to work together on agreed scientific and fundamental themes and the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
