On November 7, 2014, an expert discussion «Prospects of scientific and technological development in the field of composite materials» was held at the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM).

On November 6, 2014, the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) has hosted the conference named as «Advanced high-strength aluminum alloys for aerospace and nuclear engineering». The event has been timed to the 100^th anniversary since the birth of Candidate of Science (Tech.) Ekaterina I. Kutaytseva.

On November 5, 2014, representatives of the VIAM trade-union organization have been awarded with commemorative honorary diplomas of the Central committee of the Russian aviation trade union (PROFAVIA).

October 28, 2014 a representative of VIAM Anna Chainikova became a prize-winner of the Open competition of scientific works of young scientists and specialists, timed to the 55-th anniversary of «OSME «Technologiya».

October 27, 2014 employees of All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) were rewarded with diplomas and gratitude of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

October 22 - 24, 2014 the representatives of VIAM took part in the work of the 22-nd International scientific and technology conference«Foundry work and metallurgy 2014. Belarus »,which was held in Minsk.

October 23, 2014 Vladislav Zyryanov, a chief of VIAM department «International cooperation and foreign economic activity» took part in the meeting of the working group on cooperation in the field of industry of intergovernmental Russian-Cuban commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.

On October 22, 2014, Elena Chabina, deputy chief of the Testing Center of VIAM has taken part in meeting of the Russian scientists with representatives of Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR). The event took place at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev.

On October 22, 2014, Candidate of Sciences (Eng.) Olga G. Ospennikova, Deputy Director General of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM), has taken part in the discussion of an analytical report, which is under preparation by the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology within the «New production technologies» project.

On October 20, 2014, representative of VIAM Mikhail Bakradze has visited Saint-Petersburg, where he congratulated Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander I. Vatagin, managing director of JSC "Klimov", with the centenary of the company in the name of management and team of VIAM.

On October 17, 2014, representatives of Ulyanovsk research and technological center (URTC) of VIAM took part in IV International theoretical and practical conference «Systems for control of life cycle of aviation engineering: actual problems, researches, implementation experience and prospects for development». The event was held at Ulyanovsk aviation plant (Aviastar-SP).

On October 13-16, 2014, Vladimir Erasov, Sergey Skripachov, Nikolay Yakovlev and Artyom Gulyaev, representatives of VIAM have participated in the XXII International Forum for material tests TestXpo, that took place in Ulm (Germany).

On October 15, 2004, candidate of technical sciences Olga G. Ospennikova, Deputy General Director of VIAM, has participated in the extended meeting of the Presidium of the Scientific-Technical Council of “Aviation engine-building Union” Association. The event was held at Metallurgical Plant “Elektorstal” JSC.

VIAM will develop additive technologies for manufacture and repair of GTE components.
