On March 6, 2013 academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, General Director of All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) took part in the meeting «State and perspectives of development of combat aviation in the Russian Federation» which was led by Vladimir V. Putin, President of the Russian Federation during his visit to Novosibirsk aircraft factory named after V.P. Chkalov.
In particular, the head of the state focused attention of the attendees on the importance of close contacts between customers, developers and manufacturers of equipment, clear vision of technological tasks and understanding of requirements to advanced weapons. «Certainly, there can be different points of view on some problems, but the army and the defense-industrial complex have to cooperate closely», declared Vladimir Putin. He reminded that it is necessary to re-equip the combat aviation almost completely. And it concerns the whole park of aircraft and helicopters. «Characteristics of new equipment have to be better than those of foreign analogues», – the President of the Russian Federation emphasized.
He also said that 5 trillion rubles in total will be spent on rearmament and re-equipment of military aviation divisions and due to it the share of modern aviation engineering in the army would be raised up to 70 % by 2020. «With this purpose enterprises of the aviation industry have to be completely reequipped to improve their production capabilities and peopleware», pointed out Vladimir Putin.
Heads of federal departments and representatives of the largest aircraft enterprises of Russia took part in the meeting.
